Mini-Grant Proposal

Always follow forms provided and supply information for EVERY portion of the application.  Most applications will request the following information.  If there is no application form, write a proposal using the following format.  It is best to write a cover letter stating which grant you are applying for and the amount of money you need for your project.

Introduction

Summarize who, what, when, where, and why.

Goal

One or two sentence description of planned results.

 Needs Statement

What will be accomplished?  Emphasize student achievement that will be gained through the project.

What problem will be solved?

Who will be served? Be specific.

How many?

Project Objectives

List measurable* outcomes to be attained. 

Activities

Describe activities (methods) that will be use to meet objectives

Evaluation

State how project will be assessed based on the objectives above.

Personnel

List personnel involved and responsibilities of each.

Timeline

State when each activity and assessment will take place.

Project Budget

Include cost of materials, transportation, equipment needed to conduct activities.

Sharing/disbursement of results

Describe a forum that will be appropriate for sharing project outcomes with colleagues, parents, etc.

 HINTS

Keep it short – write succinctly

Submit proposal on or before deadline

Write a thank you letter when the grant is awarded
