History, Philosophy and Trends in Education

CATALOG DESCRIPTION OF COURSE: Students compare philosophical foundations of historical and contemporary education and consider current issues using an informed discussion centered approach. Students assess political and social trends, laws, proper conduct and penalties for teachers, and shifts and technological changes related to contemporary and future educational planning. Appropriate technology will be integrated to support and enhance learning. Discussions center on all levels of education from preschool to secondary schools.
